Frozen Watermelon & Cucumber Dog Treats
10 August 2026
Perfect for: Hot summer days when your dog needs a refreshing little treat.
You’ll need:
- 300g seedless watermelon, chopped
- 100g cucumber, peeled and chopped
- 2–3 fresh mint leaves (optional)
- A small splash of water, if needed
Method:
- Remove any seeds and the rind from the watermelon and chop into small pieces.
- Peel and chop the cucumber.
- Add the watermelon, cucumber and mint to a blender.
- Blend until smooth. Add a small splash of water if the mixture is too thick.
- Pour into small silicone moulds or ice cube trays.
- Freeze for 3–4 hours, or until completely solid.
- Pop one or two out when your dog needs a refreshing summer treat.
Top Tip:
Make them smaller rather than larger, especially for smaller dogs, and introduce new treats gradually. Important: Always use seedless watermelon and remove the rind before preparing the treats. The rind and seeds aren't suitable for dogs.
Rags & Bert’s Summer Twist:
You could also add a few tiny pieces of cooked chicken before freezing for a savoury version that many dogs will love.
