Terms and Conditions of The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s

Effective Date: 1st October 2024

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking your appointment. By scheduling an appointment with The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.

Our Duty of Care for Your Dog

At The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s, the health, safety, and well-being of your dog while in our care is our highest priority.
We strictly only use positive reinforcement methods during grooming to ensure a stress-free experience for your dog. Our groomers are trained to handle dogs with patience, kindness, and care, always prioritizing their comfort.
We will never use force or negative reinforcement techniques. If your dog becomes highly, stressed, anxious or uncomfortable during the grooming process, we may pause or stop the session to avoid causing further stress. You will be charged for the grooming completed up to this point.
We ensure that our grooming environment is clean, safe, and comfortable, with the goal of making each visit as positive as possible for your dog.

Booking Deposit

£20 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of the service on the day of the appointment. If you fail to attend the appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the deposit will not be refunded.

Matting Charges

If your dog's coat is severely matted, additional charges will apply due to the extra time and effort required to safely groom the dog.
Matting fees start from £18 but may increase depending on the severity of the matting. You will be informed of any additional charges during the initial assessment of your dog.
Severely matted dogs are at risk of clipper burns, skin irritation, or cuts due to the close contact required to remove mats. The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s will not be liable for any injuries resulting from the mat removal process.

Flea Infestation

If your dog is found to have fleas, we are required to treat the dog with flea shampoo to avoid the spread of infestation. This treatment is mandatory and will be charged accordingly.
An additional fee of £36 will be charged to cover the cost of cleaning and disinfecting the grooming pod following the treatment of a flea-infested dog.
We reserve the right to refuse service if a flea infestation is found and the owner declines treatment.

Cancellations and No-Shows

To reschedule or cancel your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your appointment will result in the loss of your deposit.
No-shows or late cancellations (less than 48 hours' notice) will also result in the loss of your deposit.

Late Arrival

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we may need to reschedule, and your deposit may be forfeited. Please call ahead if you know you will be running late.

Health, Medical, and Vaccination Requirements

For the safety of your pet and our staff, all dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations (including flea and worming treatments). Please inform us of any medical conditions, behavioural issues, or allergies your dog may have before grooming. Failure to provide accurate information may result in rescheduling or additional charges.

Handling of Aggressive Dogs

If your dog shows signs of aggression, we reserve the right to stop the grooming process. We prioritize the safety of our staff and your dog. You will still be charged for the time spent up to that point.
Owners are responsible for informing us of any aggressive behaviour or past incidents in advance of the appointment.

Liability

While every effort is made to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog during grooming, The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s cannot be held liable for any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that arise during or after grooming. This includes, but is not limited to, clipper burns, nicks, or stress-related conditions.

Photography and Media Consent

With your consent, The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s may take photos or videos of your dog during the grooming process to use for promotional purposes (e.g., social media, website). If you do not wish for your dog’s image to be used, please inform us when you drop off your pet.

Appointment Reminders

You will receive a reminder via [email/SMS] 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date to receive reminders. Failure to receive a reminder does not exempt you from adhering to the cancellation policy.

Customer Responsibility

It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that their dog is in good health and free from fleas before the grooming appointment.
Please ensure that your dog has had a bathroom break prior to arrival.

Payment Terms

Full payment is required at the time of collection of your dog. We accept [list payment methods].
Any additional fees (matting charges, flea treatment, etc.) will be added to the total bill.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Please review these Terms and Conditions regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes.

By booking an appointment with The Grooming Pod at Rags & Bert’s, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
