A Little About Dennis
Dennis is a gorgeous 6-year-old Shih Tzu/Bichon cross who has been with his family since just before the very first lockdown — and he’s been ruling the roost (lovingly, of course!) ever since.
Described in three words as bossy, protective, and loving, Dennis is devoted to his people and thrives on being close to his family and friends. He’s happiest when he’s in the middle of the action — ideally receiving attention. Walks with Dennis are never rushed affairs either; he likes to take his time, thoroughly sniffing the world around him and making sure nothing goes unnoticed.
Life at Rags & Bert’s
Dennis is a familiar little face at Rags & Bert’s, and his family chose the Dog Hotel because he already knows and loves the team, the environment, and the routine. That familiarity makes all the difference — and he settles in beautifully every time he stays.
What Dennis enjoys most? The people. The team absolutely adore him, and he makes the most of every cuddle going. Knowing he’s surrounded by warm, friendly dog-lovers gives his family complete peace of mind.
He also has a very clear understanding of where he’s going. About a mile away, the excitement kicks in — and by the time the car pulls into the car park, Dennis has his owners practically sprinting to the entrance!
The postcards are always a highlight for his family too. Those little updates are a lovely reassurance that he’s happy, settled, and enjoying his time away. A particular favourite moment was seeing Dennis transformed into “Dennis the Menace” in one of the AI pictures — a title that may or may not suit him perfectly!

At home, Dennis is completely devoted to his family. He loves being with them, keeping a watchful (and slightly bossy) eye on everything that’s going on. Beneath that confident exterior is a deeply loving little dog who simply wants to be close to his people.
