Meet Julia – The Heart Behind Rags & Bert’s. The idea for Rags & Bert’s began thousands of miles away. After visiting CityDog in Los Angeles, Julia’s heart sang as she watched dogs spending their days playing together, socialising, and simply loving being around other dogs. That moment planted a seed, one that would eventually grow into Rags & Bert’s.
Julia completed the business plan back in 2004, driven by a clear vision of creating a space where dogs could enjoy companionship, enrichment, and expert care. That vision became a reality when Rags & Bert’s officially opened its doors in November 2016 — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, Julia has led the business with one unwavering focus: always doing what’s best for the dog. Seeing the team recognised nationally and winning industry awards has been a particularly proud milestone - a reflection of the dedication, passion, and shared values that sit at the heart of Rags & Bert’s.
Outside of R&B’s, Julia’s love for animals has always been clear. Having retrained in Animal Management before opening the business, she has long been committed to working within the animal industry.
